Be inspired and confident in your choices!

Living a healthy lifestyle improves your health, but it also allows you to gain the confidence you need to make the best choices in your daily routine to simply be happy. I want you to feel good about the choices you make on a day-to-day basis. And I want you to feel confident in the choices you do make.

For over 15 years, I have worked with individuals in the healthcare field on getting into a better mindset to make healthier lifestyle choices and setting goals that are realistic to their needs, capabilities, and time constraints. I understand how hard it can be to make a health change.

Think about what you are doing now in terms of health behaviours. If you were to follow on your current path, and continue these health behaviours, can you see yourself reaching your health goals in 5 or 10 years? If your answer is “probably not”, then think about this: what do I need to do tomorrow, that is different from today, which will help me get to where I want to be in the future?

In order to make any kind of change, you need to ask yourself if you are ready to make a change. Ask yourself how confident you are to make a change. Then ask yourself how important any type of change is to you. Change has to be important enough to make it work. Think about what is important to you as to why you want to make a change. What the consequences if you didn’t make that change.?

Making the healthiest choice!

Here’s an example:

As I write this newsletter, I have a toddler playing nearby and a newborn asleep in between feedings. Am I tired? Yes. Am I exhausted? Yes. Overwhelmed? Definitely. But what are my choices? I love my family! I love my job!

My point is: our emotions often control what we choose to do, whether it be our activity levels or our eating habits. I could simply leave my computer and watch television and order take-out. But because I chose to make extra dinner last night, I have lunch ready for me to warm up. And then I’m going to make the choice to dress my newborn and walk my toddler to the playground (since it would be nice for all of us to get out of the house for some fresh air).

So, what kind of choices are you going to make today? How can you make the healthier choice in any one aspect of your daily routine?

You are the only one that knows what you truly want to achieve in your health goals. You have to believe in yourself and believe that you can make a change no matter your current lifestyle. I believe you can!

Living a healthy lifestyle is one thing that you strive for, not only to live a longer life but to truly enjoy day-to-day routines without cause for any health concerns. There are many benefits to living a healthy lifestyle and you don’t have to go all out in every aspect of health to achieve this. Yes, physical activity, healthy eating, and good mental well-being are all very important. But this doesn’t mean you have to go to a gym or go on a diet.

I want you to experience the joy of living a healthy lifestyle! And base your healthy lifestyle goals around what you want to accomplish…for YOU, not for anyone else!
